That wasn’t handled correctly on the salebarn’s part. It’s not your fault they didn’t do their part to get the buyers there. I’d change commission companies. It’s up to them to assure that the calves bring market value, that’s their job. Whether they buy them themselves or not. The reason I know this is, I own a livestock auction myself in SW Oklahoma. We avg around 2000 head/week but big salebarn/little salebarn doesn’t matter, it’s the same concept.

Gotta watch buying from some private sellers also, I bought two calf's off of a guy in Port Royal pa back in spring and he told me calves was healthy blah blah, well he got here and was unloading them and noticed they had scours, he said they must have just got it, well they died two days later even with vet intervention. They had scours longer than what they was here.

The biggest problem i see is ignorance. Is animal welfare important? Absolutely. Thing is, if you're putting your farm out there on social media, you likely trying to do things right. There's just such a huge disconnect between food and society today. I kid you not, there are people I've ran into that didn' t know tomatoes came from plants or that hamburger came from an animal. Keep up the good work you're doing and to hell with the uninformed. They'll be the first ones at the door when the SHTF.

Look Jessica very obvious you don't have a clue so before going and calling someone out you need to go get one these bottling calves are kept in a smaller confinement but still have plenty of room to move around but the reason they are raised alone in hutches weather you know this or not Is actually for there own health bc fresh calves pick up illnesses from other calves very easy by either sucking on the ears or naval or reproductive organs which all of this cam cause infection and once a calf gets an infection it's hard to bring them back to health they only have to be in solitary confinement for a few weeks and as far as the feces and urine a farm that does this freshens these pens with fresh bedding and another thing I'm sure your a almond or soy milk drinking kinda person idk or care but the mothers who has these calve are bred and raised and milked so people can have dairy products to eat( ice cream, cheese, yogurt, etc.) And bc of this the calves have to be taken because that can be un healthy for the cow or calf and dairy cows are a custom to this any way having been working on a dairy for most of my life more times then not the cow will leave the calf on her own from my experience and lastly if it wasn't for farmers big or small then you wouldn't have the things you or any one else in this country eat but of course your probably a vegan right that's the problem most people with the animal activest don't have a clue and it's clear you don't keep it going DJ hooha

I know this is a 2 year old video, I did this in under 10 minutes, I just removed the filter and the filter threaded adapter stuck the plug in and put the filter back on, works perfect! However i should have read the description, i went to 8 part stores 2 hardware stores and tractor supply looking for a 1/2" rubber expansion plug, I had no idea it was a 3/4 plug and every place I went to had the 3/4" plug, I was stuck on other videos that used a 1/2" tap to thread the hole so i assumed i needed a 1/2" plug, definitely my blonde moment for the year, lol
